• <br /> • <br /> On motion of Commissioner Measamer, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Atkins, the Tax Collector was authorized and directed to <br /> advertise and sell all listed pr6perty for delinquent taxes. • <br /> On motion of Commissioner Winstead, :which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Grocer, a road petition submitted by Mrs. •O. J. Perkins <br /> was unanimously approved. This petition'requested thai'a road in East <br /> Sanford Township running from the Colon Road to Dead End, known as the <br /> - Wicker Road, be improved and paved. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Groce, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Measamer, the petition of Annie J. Johnson for a license to <br /> practice palmistry under the name "Sister Pocohantas" in Lee County was <br /> unanimously denied. <br /> The County Attorney was instructed to advise Mr. Malcolm McLeod, <br /> Supt. of Sanford City Schools, that the County could issue bonds in the approxirrate <br /> amount of $51, 000 without a vote of the people and to request Mr. McLeod <br /> to submit to the Board at the earliest possible date a proposal as to the use <br /> to be made of the funds derived from the sale of such bonds if the same should <br /> be issued and sold. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Atkins, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Groce, the County Attorney was authorized to draw an ordinance <br /> regulating the licensing of Junk Dealers in Lee County, under authority <br /> granted by Chapter 766 of the Session Laws of 1955. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Measamer, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Winstead, a road petition submitted by Dennis Williams was <br /> unanimously approved, which said petition asks that Cooper Street in Jonesboro <br /> Township be added to the State Highway System and maintained. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br /> was adjourned. <br /> • <br /> Chairman <br /> • <br /> Attest: <br /> • <br /> • <br />
