Potts, County Electrical Inspector, presented his monthly <br /> report. <br /> Mrs. Laura D. Rosser, County Supt. of Public Welfare, presented <br /> the monthly report of the Welfare Department. • <br /> • L. L. Beckham, Director of CiVil Defense, presented the monthly <br /> report of the Office of Civil Defense. <br /> Hugh Talley, County Sanitarian, presented his monthly report and <br /> ...the monthly report of the County Health Department in the absence of Dr. <br /> • R. E. Shanahan, County Health Official. <br /> S. Ray Byerly, County Tax Attorney, gave a detailed report to the . <br /> Board upon the collection of delinquent taxes. It was agreed by the Board, <br /> upon an analysis of the work to be done, that Mr. Byerly would be retained <br /> for such additional period of time as would be required to bring the <br /> delinquent tax foreclosures up-to-date. <br /> Commissioner Measamer moved that the following resolution be <br /> adopted: <br /> • <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the Sheriff of Lee County be and he is hereby <br /> authorized rand directed, at his earliest convenience, to convey and deliver <br /> to the warehouse of the North Carolina Alcoholics Beverage Control Board <br /> in Raleigh, North Carolina, the 240 one-half pints and 240 pints of tax paid <br /> whiskey seized from Hubert Anderson Horner on the_5th day of November, <br /> 1959, by members of the North Carolina State Highway Patnol, which said <br /> tax paid whiskey was, by the Honorable W. W. Seymour, Judge of the Lee <br /> County Criminal Court, on the 17th day of November, 1959, ordered to be <br /> disposed of according to law, said order being entered in a case entitled <br /> "State of North Carolina vs. Hubert Anderson Horner" then pending in said <br /> Lee County Criminal Court, and be it further resolved that said whiskey be <br /> sold to said North Carolina Alcoholics Beverage Control Board for cash as <br /> provided by law and that the proceeds of such sale be placed in the School <br /> Fund of Lee County as provided by law. <br /> Commissioner Winstead seconded the motion and said motion was <br /> adopted by the-unanimous'vote of the Board. <br /> There being no further business to come before-the Board the <br /> meeting was adjourned. •. <br /> Chairman <br /> Atte sted: <br />
