Commissioner Measamer introduced the following bond order which was read at length: "BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING .THE ISSUANCE OF $913, 000 SCHOOL BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF LEE, • • WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Education and the Sanford City Board .of Education have determined that the existing school plant facilities in their respective units are not adequate for the maintenance of public schools, and each of said Boards has determined that the additional school plant facilities to be constructed in its respective unit as hereinafter set forth are necessary to enable the County of Lee, as an administrative agency of the public school system of the State of North Carolina, to maintain public schools in such unit, and has requested the Board of . Commissioners to provide the respective sum herein authorized to be expended for such additional school plant facilities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee as follows: - Section 1, The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee has ascertained and hereby determines that it is necessary to provide the following additional school facilities in the Lee County School Administrative Unit of the County of Lee: (1) an addition of five classrooms for the Lee Elementary School, (2) a new Trade Building and an addition of six classrooms for the W. B. Wicker School, (3) an addition of four'classrooms for the Greenwood School, (4) an addition of four classrooms and a residence for the principal for the Deep River School, (5) paving the school grounds at the Broadway School, Greenwood School, Lee Elementary School: , Deep River School and the W. B. Wicker School, and (6) the acquisition of additional land for the W. B. Wicker School, in order to enable • the County of Lee, as an administrative agency of the public school system of the State of North Carolina, to maintain public schools in said School Administrative Unit for the nine months"' school term prescribed by law, and that it will be necessary to expend for such purposes not less than $398, 000 • in addition to Other moneys which have been made available therefor. $398, 000 raised •by the issuance of the bonds authorized by this bond order shall be used to finance the cost of providing said school facilities. Section 2. The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee has ascertained and hereby determines that 'it is necessary to provide the following additional school facilities in the Sanford City School Administrative Unit of the County of Fee: (1) the erection of a new vocational education building for the Central High School and an addition to the Central High School Building to provide four new classrooms and a student union center, (2) The reconstruction of the building used for the McIver School, (3) the - reconstruction of the school building used for the Jonesboro Heights Sch@.d, (4) the reconstruction of the building used for, the Junior High School, (5) the erection of an addition to the building used for the Floyd L. Knight School so as to provide four new classrooms, (6) the construction of a new building for the West Sanford Elementary School and the acquisition of land required for a suitable site, .(7) the acquisition of furniture and fixtures required for said new buildings, (8) the erection of a building for use as a storage warehouse and to provide central refrigeration, and (9) the improvement of the school grounds used for such school buildings, in order to enable the County of Lee, as an administrative agency of the public school system of the State of North Carolina, to maintain public schools • r.
