Commissioner Winstead moved the_adpption of the following <br /> resolution with respect to the request for the addition of the roads <br /> in the Carbonton Heights Subdivision to the State maintained Secondary <br /> Road System: <br /> • <br /> WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with <br /> the Board of County Commissioners Of the County of Lee • . <br /> requesting that the.above described re <br /> ad; the location of which <br /> has been indicated fti red on the atberl7P'► mass, be added to the <br /> Secondary Road systems and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of <br /> the opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br /> Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standard& <br /> and criteria established by the State Highway Commission Sr <br /> the addition of roads to the System. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, bent resolved by the Board of <br /> County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State <br /> Highway Cotrunission is hereby requested to review the above <br /> described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it <br /> meets established-standards ant criteria. <br /> Mr. E. P. Clark:,' Superintendent of the County Buildings, gave a <br /> report on the conditions of all-bu&ldinge owned by.the County. <br /> Mr. j. G. Edwards, a member of the Lee County Board of Educatissn, <br /> appeared at the request of the Commissioners avid discussed with them the <br /> contract rereantly let for a principal's 'home in Deep'River Township. •Mr. • <br /> Edwards advised the Board that the funds in excess of the $12,000 amount <br /> set up in the bond issue would be'paid out of the capital outlay funds <br /> presently on hand. <br /> Discussion was then heard on the recommendation of the Local <br /> Government Commission with respect to offering $1,000; 000 worth of <br /> bonds on A,prii '11th. <br /> • Upon motion of Commissioner Winstead, which was seconded by <br /> Commissioner C-ox, and duly carried, it was <br /> RESOLVED that the $1,000, 000 offering consist of <br /> $275,000 for the Industrial Education Center, $150,000 for <br /> the Jail, ,$293,000 for Lee County Hospital, and$282,000 <br /> for Schools, and that the bonds may be dated May 1, 1961, <br /> and mature annually on May 1st, is the -fiscal years through <br /> 1986; and that said bonds be payable at the Chen iical Bank <br /> Nev York Trust Company, New York City, •or at Wachovia <br /> Rend & Trust Company, Raleigh, and that the legal opinion <br /> be printed on the bends. <br /> The Chairman announced that henceforth the Health Department <br /> will make its monthly report at 11:45 A. M. <br /> jurors for the 1961 Term of Criminal Court in Lee County Superior <br /> Court for March 27, were drawn as follows: <br />
