Mr. C. W. Allen of 2612 Lakeside Drive, Jonesboro Heights Station, <br /> appeared before the Board with a request to purchase some property formerly <br /> belonging to the Lloyd Spivey heirs on Temple Avenue. Mr. Allen was <br /> advised to have his Attorney ascertain the status of the property and submit a <br /> bid to the County if in fact the County held deed to the property. <br /> Mr. James Stewart, state Highway Commission Office in Sanford, <br /> appeared before the Board and discussed surveys and road projects in the <br /> County. The Road Committee made an appointment to meet Mr. Stewart on <br /> Thursday, the 6th day of April, 1961, at 1:00 2. M. to inspect various roads. <br /> Mr. Malcolm McLeod, Superintendent of the Sanford City Board of <br /> Education appeared before the Commissioners at their request and advised them <br /> that the City Board of Fducation had no intention of purchasing a site in the <br /> Carbonton Heights Section at the present time in view of the purchase in that <br /> area which had been made by the Leo County Board of Education. Dr. R. O. <br /> Humphrey, member of the Lee County Board of Education, appeared at the <br /> request of the Board of the County Commissioners and discussed the recent <br /> purchase made by the County Board of Education in the Carbonton Heights <br /> Section of Sanford. Dr. Humphrey also discussed the administrative unit <br /> lines present in existence in Lee County. Dr. Humphrey extended apologies <br /> to the Commissioners if the action of the Lee County Board of Education had in <br /> any wise caused the Commissioners any embarrassment. Dr. Humphrey stated <br /> that in his opinion one administrative unit should administer the entire educational <br /> program for Lee County. <br /> Henry Cameron of Jonesboro Township, appeared before the Board relative <br /> to some ;tarty he claims to have purchased at a tax sale. He was advised to <br /> have he or his attorney to bring full particulars of the property and when ho <br /> purchased it before the Board and they would consider his request for a new <br /> deed if in fact such was necessary. <br /> Dr. McKinnon appeared before the Board and was advised to conduct the <br /> clinic for the vaccination of dogs as he had in the past. <br />
