0 <br /> BOOK 6 PACE 20 <br /> Commissioner Kelly seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br /> unanimouslyacarried. <br /> Mr. Bill Britt, City Manager of the City of Sanford appeared before <br /> the Board to give them advance notice of a request to extend the zoning <br /> authority of the City of Sanford one mile out from its City limits and to,have <br /> the Board of County Commissioners appoint additional members of the zoning <br /> board, Mr. Britt stated that the formal-.resolution would provably be passed <br /> by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Sanford at their meeting that night. <br /> Chairman Clyde J. Atkins gave a report of his trip to New Orleans to <br /> attend the meeting of the National Association of County Officials and in <br /> particular about the discussion of planing and zoning on a County-wide basis. <br /> Commissioner Winstead made a motion to add the Euphronia Presby- <br /> terian Church Road to the State Maintained Secondary Road System, as <br /> follows: <br /> WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the <br /> Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting • <br /> that the above described road, the location of which has been <br /> indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary <br /> Road System; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the <br /> opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br /> Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br /> and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the <br /> addition of roads to the System. <br /> . NOW, THEREFORE, belt resolved by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State Highway <br /> Commission is hereby requested to review the above described <br /> road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets <br /> established standards and criteria. <br /> Commissioner Groce seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br /> unanimously carried. <br /> Mr. James Clark, Tax Supervisor, appeared before the Board and <br /> gave a tentative report upon'valuations by townships of the property. <br /> Commissioner Groce was w.-b. asked to investigate the possibility <br /> of acquiring a new Armory for Lee County as originally proposed by the <br /> National Guard Officers stationed in Sanford. <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of the following: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of <br /> Lee County that $1, 000. 00 of the appropriation for Recreation <br /> Commission be paid to them at this time., <br /> Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote it was carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Bills were approved as noted thereon. <br /> There being no further business , the meeting was adjourned. <br /> Cl rJ7 Mkins, Chairman <br /> Attest: / U ((�J <br /> Kenneth R.
