F v <br /> BOOK 6 PACE 18 <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners <br /> is of the opinion that the above described road should be <br /> added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets <br /> minimum standards and criteria established by the State <br /> Highway Commission for the addition of roads to the System. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, beit resolved by the Board of <br /> County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State <br /> Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the <br /> above described road, and to take over the road for main- <br /> tenance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br /> Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br /> unanimously carried. <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of the following <br /> resolution with respect to the "3/4 mile length road in Pocket Township, off <br /> the Carbonton Road, which runs through the land of N. A. Cummings and C. M. <br /> Oldham and others: <br /> WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the <br /> Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting <br /> that the above described road,, the location,of which has been <br /> indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary <br /> Road System; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the <br /> opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br /> Se condary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br /> and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the <br /> addition of roads to the System. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State Highway <br /> Commission is hereby requested to review the above described <br /> road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets <br /> established standards and criteria. <br /> Commissioner Kelly seconded,the,motion and upon a vote it was <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> Commissioner Cox made amotion to"have Secondary Road No. 1314 <br /> also known as the McPherson Road, ,straightened, widened and gravelled: <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the <br /> County of Lee has investigated the condition of the above <br /> described road which is now a part of the system of roads main- <br /> tained by the State Highway Commission, and which is indicated" <br /> in red on" the attached map; and <br /> WHEREAS,, after careful,consideration of the services <br /> rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said County, it <br /> is deemed necessary that said road be improved in order to better <br /> serve the interests of the people of this County. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved and the Board of <br /> County Commissioners hereby aproved and request that the <br /> State Highway Commission make the following improvements <br /> in the above described road: Straighten curve, widen to standard <br /> width and gravel for all weather travel. <br />
