BOOK- 6 POSE 50 <br /> Mr. Lewis Brown, Jailer, appeared before the Board and requested <br /> an increase in jail fees. <br /> - Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of the following <br /> resolution: - <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> • OF LEE COUNTY that from and after the 2nd day of July, <br /> 1962, the jail fees be raised from $1,00 to $1;25 per day. Commissior - <br /> er Kelly seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote all of the <br /> Commissioners voted "aye" and none voted "no". • <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of the following resolution <br /> with respect to the Road from Old # 87 to Cameron Road: <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> • the County of Lee has investigated the condition of the above <br /> described road which is now a part of the system of roads • <br /> maintained by the State Highway Commission, and which is indicated <br /> in red on the attached map; and <br /> WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services <br /> rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said county, it <br /> is deemed necessary that said road•be improved in order to <br /> better serve the interests of the people of this county. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, and the Board of <br /> County Commissioners hereby approved and request that the <br /> State Highway Commission make the following improvements in <br /> the above described road; Black-top <br /> Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and it was unanimously carried. <br /> Mr. J. Chandler Eakes, Register of Deeds, appeared before the <br /> Board and gave a report on the activities of his office. <br /> Mr. Paul Lucas, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board and pre- <br /> sented report of his collections furing the month of June. <br /> Dr. John E. Dotterer was appointed by the Board as a member of <br /> the County Welfare Board for a period of three years. <br /> Mr. James L. Clark was nominated by Commissioner Winstead to <br /> serve as Tax Supervisor, until the 1st Monday of July, 1963. <br /> Commissioner Groce seconded the nomination and there were no other <br /> nominations. - • • <br /> Upon a vote the Commissioners voted as follows: <br /> • <br /> Aye: Cox, Groce, Winstead and Atkins <br /> No: Kelly • • <br /> Mr. Clark took the oath of office before the Clerk of•the Superior <br /> Court as follows: <br />
