<br /> There was.a discussion of the bids and the County Auditor advised
<br /> that there was a sum of $1, 500. 00 appropriated for this item in the current
<br /> budget.
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Dotterer, duly seconded by Commissioner
<br /> Atkins, andunanimously adopted, it was resolved to accept the bid of Motorola
<br /> Communications & Electronics, Inc. , in the amount of $1, 380. 20.
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Atkins, seconded by Commissioner
<br /> Dotterer, it was resolved to appropriate the sum of $575.00 from the jail
<br /> construction funds for the purchasea nd installation of aluminum windows in
<br /> the old jail building, and,to issue a change order to L. P. Cox Company, Inc. ,
<br /> Contractor, who is presently repairing said building.
<br /> Upon a roll call vote, the Commissioners voted as follows:
<br /> Aye: Atkins, Cox, Dotterer, Ledwell and Kelly ,
<br /> •No: None
<br /> and it was so ordered. •
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Dotterer, duly seconded by Commission(r
<br /> Ledwell, it was resolved by the Board to expend the $35, 000.00 appropriated_
<br /> for the completion of the Broadway School, in the following manner, to wit:
<br /> $15, 000. 00, to be paid to the Lee County Board of Education at the present
<br /> time and the sum of $20,000. 00, to be paid on the 1st of January, 1964.
<br /> The roll call vote upon this motion was as follows:
<br /> .Aye: Atkins, Cox, Dotterer, Ledwell and Kelly
<br /> No: None
<br /> The Board then received bids for the following work on the Courthouse
<br /> grounds: 60 feet of 12 inch pipe laid - channel out 100 feet by 42 feet area -
<br /> 6 inches of sand clay base - and 208 feet of concrete curbing.
<br /> Bids on the above work were as follows:
<br /> Lee Paving Company . . . . $ 835.00
<br /> L. P. Cox Company $ 950. 00
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner
<br /> Ledwell and unanimously adopted, it was resolved to accept the low bid of
<br /> Lee Paving Company, in the amount of $835. 00, for the completion of said
<br /> work.
<br /> Upon motion made, duly seconded, and unanimously adopted, it was
<br /> resolved to pay the current bills as listed by the County Accountant and as
<br /> indicated upon the invoices.
<br /> The Board then considered the Road Petition leading to the residence
<br /> of PomptTaylor, and being of the opinion that said petition did not meet the
<br /> minimum standards set by the State Highway Commission, directed that the
<br /> petition, together with a copy of said standards, be forwarded to Pomp Taylor.
<br /> The minutes for the meeting held on August 5th, were approved and
<br /> ordered filed. There being no further business to come before said session,
<br /> the m--ting, upon motion made, seconded and duly carried, was adjourned,
