BOOK 6 PAGE 199 Upon motion, Commissioner Dotter, seconded by Commissioner Ledwell, unanimously adopted, Laura Ellen Rosser of Broadway , was relieved of the penalty for late listing,on personal property. Mr. Shepard, of the Southern Appraisal Company, which is assisting the Commissioners in revaluing the property, appeared before the Board and discussed the various parts of the work of his company up to date: - Upon motion of Commissioner Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner Ledwell, the minutes of the December meeting were approved and ordered filed. - The monthly bills as prepared on.the statement by the County Accountant with the exception of the item listed in the name of the City of Sanford, were approved and ordered paid. . • Upon motion of Commissioner Dotterer, seconded by comm- issioner Ledwell, it was resolved to transfer $200. 00 from thecCounty • Hospital Fund to the General Relief Fund in the Welfare Budget. Upon a roll call vote, the Commissioners voted as follows: • Aye: Atkins, Cox, Dotterer, Ledwell and Kelly • - • No: None The motion was unanimously adopted. • Upon motion of Commissioner Cox, •seconded by Commissioner Dotterer, it was resolved to appropriate from the unappropriated surplus of the•General Fund, the sum of $2, 500. 00 to the.Courthouse Annex repairs and maintenance fund. Upon a roll call vote, the Commissioners voted as follows: • Aye: Atkins, Cox, Dotterer, Ledwell and Kelly - -No: None • - The motion was unanimously adopted. • • The Board then reconsidered the recommendations of the Southern•Appraisal Company of-N. C. ,' with respect to the-valuing of prop- erty. • Commissioner Dotterer moved the adoption of the following motion: • BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of.Commissioners for • Lee County that the following values be adopted as a guide for revaluing land, to wit: Rural land - the adjusted values as recommended by the appraisal company. Urban property - the City values as •recommended by the appraisal company, less 15%. There was an extended discussion of the motion but no second was ever made and the Chairman ruled that the motion died for lack of a second, Commissioner Atkins moved the adoption of the following resolution: Page five
