Mr. R. B. Nelson of Ban 252. Raborsc avllie, N. C. , appeared <br /> before the Board to request the Board to go on record in favor of the widening <br /> of N. C. 42. After discussion. Commissioner Cox moved the adoption of the <br /> following resolution: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD <br /> OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY that they <br /> favor that N. C. 42 be modernized and widened to <br /> 24 feat in width from the Intersection of U. S. Highway <br /> 421 and N. C. Highway 42, east of Sanford, to the <br /> intersection of N. C. Highway 42 and U. S. Highway <br /> 401 at Puquaypi+'arine and that the bridge across the <br /> Cape Fear river he widened from its present 18 tem <br /> to 28 fees. <br /> Commissioner Dotterel' seconded <br /> the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. the Clerk was instruct- <br /> ed to furnish copies of such action to the Director of the State Highway Cotten- <br /> lesion, its Chief Engineer and Mr. W. E. Horner, Highway Commissioner. <br /> The meeting recessed at 11:45 a. tn. for lunch. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 2:00 p. rn. in the Commissioners' <br /> hoom with ail members present and Chairman Slog H.
