A'dht.TY'cS SPECIAL MEETING OF <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR L.F,;E <br /> COUNT, NORTH CAROLIN. <br /> Thursday, 80 July 1964 <br /> Ttve special meeting of the Board of Cornealseloners for Lee <br /> County: North Carolina, convened at 8:00 o'clock p. m. in tee Commissioner's <br /> Ream at the Leo aQiy Courthouse, the same being the time, date and place <br /> specified in the notice of call of the meeting Issued by the Chatte an. Those <br /> present when the meeting was called to order were Chad/twin Shen H. Kelly, <br /> Comrntssionere Clyde J. Atkins, hen k. Datterer. and J. T. L dweli, Comm- <br /> issioner €;d eard W. Con was absent. <br /> Chairman Sion H. Kelly prspided and tree foilcawing business was <br /> transacted. <br /> Mr. R. W. Vick, of West Sanford Towuaahip, Lee County. <br /> appeared before the Ord and requested that a financial statement of the <br /> County be publitheS as eel out in N. C. General Statute Section 153-123. <br /> The Board decided to put the air -conditioning window unit <br /> presently In the grand Jury room in the office of the Veteran's Service Officer. <br /> Chairman Kelly stated tour appilcatiaus for the office of tan <br /> collector had been received. The clerk read the applications from : <br /> I. John fhi. Burns <br /> 2. Nathan Crisaueaii <br /> 3. Gordon Da!rys le <br /> 4. Edward T. hell <br /> No formal action was taken en the applicatfoas at this time. <br /> Chairman Kelly advised the Board the work at the County Home <br /> building was complete and die services of Mr. Joe Lloyd were not needed any <br /> longer. <br /> Commissioner Ledwell risked to be fired as Commissioner in <br /> charge of the County home. Chairman Kelly stated he did not fntand to fire' <br /> Commissioner Lomeli even though there was no further need for him to <br /> la regard to the County Home. <br /> Commissioner Loiterer reeved the en ref the following: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that Mr. Joe Lloyd, the <br /> Cuetodlera of the Canty Nome, be paid Geis salary through <br /> 31 July 1966, and that his aorvlcea be terminated as of <br /> that date and dun he be paid two weeks severance pay is <br /> lieu of any accrued vacation. <br /> Commissioner Atkins seconded the motion. Upon <br /> a roll cal vote the Commissioners voted as follows: <br /> AYE: Athos. Dotterel-, Kelly <br /> NO: L.edvwell <br /> The Chairman announced that the motion had carried and direct- <br /> ecl that it be recorded end the County Accountant advised. • <br />
