0 <br /> 500K 6 PACE 304 <br /> The statements and invoices as prepared by the County <br /> Accountant were presented and reviewed by the Commissioners and upon <br /> motion of Commissioner Yow, seconded by Commissioner Ledwell, and <br /> unanimously adopted, the statements and invoices were approved and ordered <br /> paid. <br /> Chairman Dotterer announced that Mr. James Potts had re- <br /> signed as Electrical Inspector and that the Board needed to take action to <br /> appoint one. <br /> Commissioner McLeod was requested to contact the authorities <br /> of the City of Sanford to see if the City Electrical Inspector could serve. <br /> The meeting recessed for lunch at twelve o'clock. <br /> The meeting reconvened at two o'clock p. m. , with all Comm- <br /> issioners present and Chairman Dotterer presiding. <br /> Commissioner McLeod reported that the Manager of the City o <br /> Sanford had given his consent to the appointment of the City Electrical <br /> • Inspector. <br /> Commissioner McLeod moved that Mr. H. G. Wrenn, be desig- <br /> nated as County Electrical Inspector, pursuant to N. C. G. S. 160-122, and <br /> that the fees for inspection in Lee County shall be the same fees as charged <br /> in the City of Sanford plus $2.00. <br /> Commissioner Ledwell seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br /> was unanimously adopted. <br /> Mr. J. Chandler Eakes, Register of Deeds appeared before <br /> the Board and gave a report on the documents registered and fees collected <br /> for the Month of December. <br /> Chairman Dotterer reported that the written report of D. F. <br /> Holder, Sheriff, had been received and read same to the Board. <br /> Mrs. Louise Dowdy appeared before the Board and gave a re- <br /> port on the activities of the Health Department. Mrs. Dowdy also presented <br /> the written report of Mr. Hugh Tally, County Sanitarian. <br /> Miss Mary Scott Gurley, Librarian, appeared before the <br /> Board and gave a report on the activities of the County Library. <br /> Mr. W. D. Gregson, Veterans Service Officer, appeared before <br /> the Board andhgave:w;report on the activities of his office. <br /> Rev. Clarence O. Low, appeared before the Board on behalf of <br /> the Youth For Christ Committee, and requested the use of the Courthouse <br /> auditorium for their meetings which are held every other Saturday night. <br /> Chairman Dotterer reported that he had received a request <br /> from the operators of Tate's Ambulance, that the Board of Commissioners <br /> issue them a franchise. <br /> No action was taken since the Board has no authority to issue <br /> such franchises. <br /> Mr. Raymond Ledford, Director of Public Welfare, appeared <br /> before the Board and gave a report on the activities Of the Welfare Depart- <br /> ment. Mr. Ledford advised the Board that he had submitted his resignation <br /> to the Welfare Board. <br />
