C <br /> 3QOX 6 NE 317 <br /> Commissioner Ledwell moved the adoption of thef ollowing <br /> resolution: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that there is hereby approp- <br /> riated out of the unappropriated surplus in the General <br /> Fund derived from non-tax sources, the sum of <br /> $4, 608. 00, to pay for 1, 152 feet of water line at the <br /> rate of $4. 00 per foot in Jonesboro Township, from <br /> P. K. Buchanan, provided that Mr. Buchanan execute <br /> an agreement embracing the termso f the sewer <br /> policy of the Board ofCommissioners and that said <br /> funds not be paid until the end of the fiscal year. <br /> Commissioner McLeod secondedthe motion and upon a roll <br /> call vote, the Commissioners voted as follows: <br /> Aye: Ledwell, McLeod, Dotterer <br /> No: Kelly <br /> Abstain: Yow <br /> The resolution was adopted bya majority vote. <br /> There was a discussion about the water line to the Castleberry <br /> property but no action was taken. <br /> Dr. Mayberry fromth e Mental Health Department appeared <br /> before the Board and gave a report on the activities of his Department. <br /> Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax Collector, appeared before the <br /> Board and gave a report of his collections as Tax Collector. <br /> Mr. James L. Clark, Tax Supervisor, appeared before the <br /> Board and gave a report on the activities of his Department. Mr. Clark <br /> requested authority to destroy the tax abstracts more than ten years old, <br /> that is, the tax abstracts for 1954 and prior years, and upon motion made, <br /> seconded and duly adopted, the Board gave its consent. <br /> Commissioner Kelly moved that the assessment ratio be set <br /> at 65%. <br /> Commissioner Ledwell seconded the motion and upon a vote <br /> it was unanimously adopted. <br /> Mr. Nathan H.Yekton, of the Local Government Retirement <br /> Service, appeared before the Board and the meeting adjourned to the Tax <br /> Supervisor's office where Mr. Yeltont. _ outlined retirement and pension plan <br /> for the County employees . <br /> Mr. E.M. Underwood, Jr. , County Auditor, was requested <br /> to have specifications on the fire insurance coverage and workmen's compen- <br /> sation insurance prepared for bidding for the coming fiscal year. <br /> Chairman Dotterer reported that Wilkins Supply Company <br /> was proposing to sell its 60 foot lot to the north of the Health Department <br /> Building. There was also a discussion about other property owned by this <br /> Company adjoining the Welfare Department. The Chairman was instructed <br /> to request the Company not to sell the property until the County<could further <br /> consider the matter. <br /> Page five <br />
