COCK 6 PACE 365 <br /> Commissioner Ledwell made a statement to the effect that he is opposed <br /> to the practice of the Board in adjourning at noon. He requested that the minutes of <br /> this meeting reflect his opposition to such practice. <br /> Commissioner Kelly moved that the current bills as listed by the County <br /> Accountant be approved for payment. Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion and <br /> upon a vote it was unanimously adopted as follows: <br /> AYE: Kelly, Ledwell, McLeod and Yow <br /> NAY: None <br /> Mr. Roy Sowers, Jr. of Roberts Company appeared before the Board and <br /> presented a letter from Mr. R.E. Pomeranz, President of Roberts Company, requesting <br /> assistance in extending a waterline to an industrial site near the G. L. Stroupe residence <br /> on U. S. Highway No. 421 north of Sanford. The Board advised Mr. Sowers they were <br /> interested in Roberts Company expanding its facilities in Lee County and would help when <br /> and if they could. <br /> The meeting recessed for lunch at 12:00 o'clock noon. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 1:30 o'clock P.M. Vice-Chairman Yow <br /> presided and the following business was transacted: <br /> The minutes of the July meeting were approved and ordered recorded upon <br /> motion of Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Ledwell, and duly adopted. <br /> Commissioner Ledwell moved that jurors be drawn for the September <br /> sessions of Superior Court. Commissioner Kelly seconded the motion and upon a vote <br /> it was unanimously adopted. The jury box was brought into the Commissioners' Room <br /> and unlocked. A child below the age of ten years was brought in the room and drew <br /> scrolls from division No. 1 as follows: <br /> PAGE THREE <br />
