• <br /> ROOK 6 ?AGE 376' Page Five <br /> There was a discussion about the insurance bids but no formal action <br /> was taken. <br /> Upon motion made, duly seconded, and unanimously adopted, the meeting <br /> recessed for lunch at 12:00 o'clock noon. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 2:00 o'clock P.M. with all of the Commissioners <br /> present except Chairman Dotterer. <br /> Vice-Chairman Yow presided and the following business was transacted: <br /> Mr. Billy L. Price, Assistant Agricultural Extension Agent, appeared <br /> before the Board and gave a report on the activities of the Extension Department. He <br /> presented the written report of Miss Mary Estelle Doyle, Home Economics Extension <br /> Agent. During the report Chairman Dotterer rejoined the meeting and assumed the <br /> chair and presided over the remainder of the session. <br /> Mr. James L. Clark qualified for the office of Tax Supervisor by taking <br /> the prescribed oath before E.M. Underwood, Sr., Clerk of Superior Court. As required <br /> by law a copy of the oath was filed with the clerk. The executed oath was ordered filed <br /> in the minutes and is as follows: <br /> I, James L. Clark, County Tax Supervisor for Lee County, <br /> North Carolina, for the fiscal years July 1965 - July 1967, do <br /> solemnly swear that I will discharge the dunes of my office as <br /> supervisor according to the laws in force governing such office; <br /> so help me God. <br /> (Signed) JAMES L.
