AGREEMENT <br /> STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br /> COUNTY OF LEE <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 1st day November, 1965, <br /> by and between LEE COUNTY, a political sub-division of the State of North Carolina, <br /> hereinafter called "the County", and the CITY OF SANFORD, a municipal corporation <br /> located in Lee County, North Carolina, hereinafter called "the City"; <br /> WITNESSETH : <br /> In consideration of the mutual promises herein contained and the <br /> mutual benefits to result therefrom, the parties agree as follows: <br /> 1 . Pursuant to the provisions of Article 24, Chapter [53, General Statutes <br /> of North Carolina, and in the exercise of die authority conferred thereby, the County and <br /> City agree to construct, improve, extend, enlarge, equip, repair, maintain, and operate <br /> a water system or parts thereof without the boundaries of the City and within the boundaries <br /> of the County. <br /> 2. The City will construct all lines and the County will pay FIVE DOLLARS <br /> ($5.00) PER FOOT to the City for all lines so constructed. <br /> :3. The City will service and maintain the lines and will provide water service <br /> to all consumers and shall receive all charges therefrom according to and in conformance with <br /> policies as the City may from time to time adopt. <br /> 4. The charges and fees for tap-ons to water lines shall be the same as charged <br /> within the City and the City will receive the charges for tap-ons computed on an acreage basis <br /> and the County will receive the charges for tap-ons computed on a tront footage basis for footage <br /> which abutts the water line extension. <br /> 5. The size of die line to be installed shall be determined by the City and <br /> conform to accepted engineering practices. <br /> 6. The determination of what lines to install, the length of the line, and when <br /> construction shall be commenced shall be under the control and supervision of the governing <br /> bodies of the County and the City. <br />
