Clark, Tax Supervisor, presented requests of <br /> refunds of taxes as follows: <br /> (a) Request of Edison Beal for refund of $9.75 for <br /> 1964 tames and $10. 14 for 1965 tuxes an two .tote on <br /> Endor Street which were erroneously listed to N. C. <br /> Beal. <br /> (b) Written request of L. .f3. McNeill for refund of $29. 57 <br /> for 7 acres of land which wee listed In both Jonesboro and <br /> West Sanford Tips in the name of Lacy P. McNeill <br /> for 196 . <br /> Both of the foregoing tracts having been clouble-lieted. and <br /> after consideration, investigation, and deliberation by the Board, Commissioner <br /> Kelly mowed the adoption of the following resolut1 nx: <br /> WHEREAS, the foregoing Tax Payers have <br /> made a written request for refund for the reason <br /> that the taxes were illegally levied and assessed upon <br /> their property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br /> County fe81 the refund of such taxes is proper, now, <br /> therefore, <br /> OF IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br /> for Lee Comity, that the Tax Collector is authorized and <br /> empowered to remit and refund the foregoing taxes. <br /> Commissioner Ledwell seconded the motion and upon a rail <br /> call vote, it was unani.tenusly adopted as follows: <br /> Aye: Kelly, Ledwell, McLeod, Vow and Dtstterer. <br /> NO: None <br /> Representatives of Bossy and Newcombe, Fugincors, of Raleigh, <br /> North Carolina, appeared before the Board, and gave a resume of their personnel <br /> and discussed both engineering and planning projects with the Board. <br /> kir. King M. Willie, of John C. ;,Muse and Company, appeared before <br /> the Board and presented his audit of the office of the Clerk of Superior Court for Led <br /> County, and reviewers the same with the ?nerd. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Ledwell, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Vow, the meeting was adjourned until two thirty o'clock p. in. on Wednesday, <br /> February 9th, 1966. <br /> 1 <br />
