• BOOK $ PAGE 433 Commissioner McLeod moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect to McDuffie Drive: WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, die Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the State Highway Comm- ission for the addition of roads to the System. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the above described road, and to take over die road for maintenance if it meets established standards and criteria. Commissioner Yow seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. L. L. Beckham, Director, appeared before the Board and gave a report on the activities of the Sanford-Lee County Civil Defense Agency. Mr. D. F. Holder, Sheriff, appeared before the Board and gave a report on the jail inspection and die activities of his department. There was a discussion of procedures to follow in order to stop dumping on areas adjacent to roads in the rural areas of the county. Mr. J. Chandler Eakes, Register of Deeds, appeared before the Board and gave a report on documents registered, licenses issued, and fees collected during the month of February.
