MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL, MEETING OP TU} BOARD <br /> OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, N. C. <br /> Wednesday, June 1st, 1966 <br /> The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br /> of Lee, convened in the Commissioner's Room at the Lee County Courthouse, at <br /> 9:00 o'clock A. M. , on Wednesday, the 1st day of June. 1966, as specified in the <br /> Notice of the meeting issued by the Chairman, pursuant to N. C. G. S. 153-8. <br /> Those present were Chairman John E. Dotterer and Commissioners Sion H. Kelly, <br /> J. T. L.edwell and Max McLeod. Commissioner Charles Robert Yow was absent. <br /> Commissioner John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: <br /> Chairman Dotterer stated that the first order of business was to con- <br /> sider the proposal of the State Board of Public Welfare, whereby the State of North <br /> Carolina hod agreed to pay one-half of the funds and was requesting Lee County to <br /> pay one-half of the funds to make up the deficiency in Welfare appropriation caused <br /> by the disallowance of payments during the period of 1952 through 1961, due to <br /> irregular appointments of guardians. The mauerwas reviewed and discussed by all <br /> the Commissioners at length and Commissioner [telly moved the adoption of the <br /> following resolution: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the suns of $7, 333. 35, be <br /> appropriated from the unappropriated surplus in the Welfare <br /> Fund and transferred to the following funds in the amounts <br /> indicated: <br /> Old Age Assistance 51,236. 00 <br /> Aid to Permanently and Totally <br /> Disabled awes $6 097. 35 <br /> Cnrn:niesioner Ledweil seconded the motion and it was adopted by a maj- <br /> ority roll call vote as follows: <br /> Aye: Kelly, Ledwell and Dotterer <br /> No: McLeod <br /> Absent: Yow <br /> There being no farther business to come before said Session, it was <br /> adjourned sine die. <br /> John E.
