Chairman Dotterer joined the meeting and presided over the further deliberations of the Board. It was brought to the Board'n attention that ."Mr. Wofford was the Constable of Jonesboro Township and is still acting in that capacity. The Clerk was instructed to udvtse Mr. Chalice Worthy that unless there was a vacancy in the office of Constable they had no authority to make an appointment and therefore he should not act In this capacity until he was duly elected and Qualified. Chairman Dotterer read a letter from the i?orestry Service, giving a report on their activities in the County. The Board discussed the complaints that had been received about dogs in the rural and suburban areas of the county. It was decided to include this topic in the area for Joint governmental action and dte,cueelon in the study being made by the Institute of Government. ;sir. Hugh Brewer, Superintendent of County Buildings, appeared before the Board and discussed employees hired by his department to work at the Courthouse. Commissioner Vow moved the adoption of the following; BE. IT RL.SC.ILVUP BY TN b BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF LEE COUNTY, that the National Electrical Code, 1965 iidltioa, air promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association. In their publication HP? -70, be adopted as the Electrical Code for Lee County and that all prior resolutions In conflict with this be hereby repealed. Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, it was unanimously adopted as follows: Aye: Kelly, McLeod, low and Dotterer tterer. No : None Commisaloner Kelly moved the adoption of the following resolution: That the Quniranan be authorized to enter into an agreement with the authorities of the City of Sanford, for and on behalf of the Board, that the County Electrical Inspector would be a Joint City-County Electrical Inspector, and that the City of Sanford would pay 25%., of the deficient of the costs of operating the office and that the Electrical Inspector would be required to attend two (2) staff meetings monthly u4th the City authorities. Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Members of the Lee County Board of Education appeared before the Board and presented a petition requesting that an election be held in their adminis- trative unit area for a supplemental tax.
