E 600K 7 PAGE 168 After the Board had heard all persons who requested to be heard, Commissioner Wicker moved that the public hearing be closed. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Yow and was unanimously adopted. Commissioner McLeod moved that the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, the bond order entitled "Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $35, 000 School Bonds of the County of Lee" introduced at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on November 6, 1967, has been duly published with notice of hearing thereon and the Board of Commissioners has, at the time and place specified in such notice of hearing, heard any and all citizens and taxpayers who desired to protest against the issuance of the bonds, and such hearing has been closed; and WHEREAS, the County Accountant has, by direction of the Board of Commissioners, filed in the office of the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners a statement of debt incurred and to be incurred for school purposes under bond orders either introduced or passed, com- plying with the provisions of the County Finance Act, and such state- ment so filed shows that the net indebtedness of the County for school purposes is 2. 1770 of the assessed valuation of property in said County as last fixed for County Taxation; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee, as follows: (1) The bond order entitled "Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $35,000, School Bonds of the County of Lee", intro- duced at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on November 6, 1967, is hereby adopted without change or amendment. (2) The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners is hereby directed to cause a copy of said bond order to be published with the statement as to its adoption prescribed by The County Finance Act in "The Sanford Daily Herald", a n6wspaper published in Sanford in said County, and such publication shall be made in the manner prescribed by The County Finance Act. The motion having been duly seconded by Commissioner White, it was unanimously adopted. The minutes of the November meeting of the County Plam-ing Board were presented to the Board of Commissioners. Mr. Raymond Ledford, Director of the County Welfare Department, appeared before the Board, and gave a report on the monthly activities of his Depart- ment. Mr. Ledford also introduced three membersof his staff who reviewed the re- quirements of their job and their case load. . The report of Mr. John F. Wood, the Electrical Inspector, was pre- sented to the Board. The report of the collections during the month of November for Ambu- lance Service, was presented to the Board. Upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, Seconded by Commissioner Yow, it was RESOLVED to appropriate the sum of $50.00 for the use and benefit of the Caswell Center from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund derived from non- tax sources.
