E <br />600K 7 PAGE 168 <br />After the Board had heard all persons who requested to be heard, <br />Commissioner Wicker moved that the public hearing be closed. The motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Yow and was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner McLeod moved that the following resolution be adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the bond order entitled "Bond Order authorizing <br />the issuance of $35, 000 School Bonds of the County of Lee" introduced <br />at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on November 6, <br />1967, has been duly published with notice of hearing thereon and the <br />Board of Commissioners has, at the time and place specified in such <br />notice of hearing, heard any and all citizens and taxpayers who desired <br />to protest against the issuance of the bonds, and such hearing has <br />been closed; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Accountant has, by direction of the <br />Board of Commissioners, filed in the office of the Clerk of the Board <br />of Commissioners a statement of debt incurred and to be incurred for <br />school purposes under bond orders either introduced or passed, com- <br />plying with the provisions of the County Finance Act, and such state- <br />ment so filed shows that the net indebtedness of the County for school <br />purposes is 2. 1770 of the assessed valuation of property in said <br />County as last fixed for County Taxation; NOW THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of Lee, as follows: <br />(1) The bond order entitled "Bond Order authorizing the <br />issuance of $35,000, School Bonds of the County of Lee", intro- <br />duced at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on <br />November 6, 1967, is hereby adopted without change or amendment. <br />(2) The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners is hereby <br />directed to cause a copy of said bond order to be published with <br />the statement as to its adoption prescribed by The County Finance <br />Act in "The Sanford Daily Herald", a n6wspaper published in <br />Sanford in said County, and such publication shall be made in the <br />manner prescribed by The County Finance Act. <br />The motion having been duly seconded by Commissioner <br />White, it was unanimously adopted. <br />The minutes of the November meeting of the County Plam-ing Board <br />were presented to the Board of Commissioners. <br />Mr. Raymond Ledford, Director of the County Welfare Department, <br />appeared before the Board, and gave a report on the monthly activities of his Depart- <br />ment. Mr. Ledford also introduced three membersof his staff who reviewed the re- <br />quirements of their job and their case load. <br />. The report of Mr. John F. Wood, the Electrical Inspector, was pre- <br />sented to the Board. <br />The report of the collections during the month of November for Ambu- <br />lance Service, was presented to the Board. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, Seconded by Commissioner <br />Yow, it was RESOLVED to appropriate the sum of $50.00 for the use and benefit of the <br />Caswell Center from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund derived from non- <br />tax sources.
