NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special <br />Election to be held in the County of Lee, North Carolina, <br />on May 4, 1968, there will be submitted to the qualified <br />voters of said County the question whether they shall <br />approve or disapprove (1) the indebtedness to be incurred <br />by the issuance of bonds of said County of"the maximum <br />principal- amount of $750, 000, and (2) the levy of a tax for <br />the payment of such bonds, and (3) the bond order entitled <br />"Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $750, 000 County <br />Courthouse Bonds of the County of Lee", adopted by the <br />Board of Commissioners on March 4, 1968, to authorize <br />the issuance of said Bonds and the levy of such tax. The <br />$750, 000 bonds are authorized to finance the cost of <br />remodeling and reconstructing and enlarging, by the <br />erection of an addition or additions, the existing Courthouse <br />building, and ofacquiring furnishings and equipment necessary <br />for such remodeled or reconstructed or enlarged Courthouse <br />building. <br />The ballot-labels for the voting machines to be used <br />at said election shall contain the words "For the band order <br />authorizing $750, 000 bonds to finance the cost of remodeling <br />and reconstructing and enlarging, by the erection of an <br />addition or additions, the existing Courthouse building, and <br />of acquiring furnishings and equipment necessary for such <br />remodeled or reconstructed ox enlarged Courthouse building <br />and a tax therefor" and the words "Against the bond order <br />authorizing $750, 000 bonds to finance the cost of remodeling <br />and reconstructing and enlarging, by the erection of an <br />addition or additions, the existing Courthouse building, and <br />of acquiring furnishings and equipment necessary for such <br />remodeled or reconstructed or enlarged Courthouse <br />building and a tax therefor", in such formal will allow the <br />voters at said election to vote for or against said bond order <br />and said tax. <br />in the event that a majority of the qualified voters <br />voting at said election shall vote to approve such bond order <br />and the incurring of such indebtedness and the levy of such <br />taxes, said bonds shall be issued for the purposes described <br />in such bond order and taxes shall be levied for the payment <br />of such bonds. <br />The polls for the election will open at the hour of 6:30 o'cle <br />A. m., and will close at the hour of 6:30 o'clock p. m. The <br />election will be held at the same polling places at which the <br />last election was held in Lee County for the election of <br />members of the General Assembly. <br />..,aa <br />Registration books of Lee County in such election precincts <br />will be used for said election. All qualified voters whose <br />names are not registered upon' such registration books and <br />who present themselves for registration may be registered <br />on or before April 13, 1968, being the 21st day before said <br />election by the Special Registration Commissioner at the <br />office of the Lee County Register of Deeds in the Lee County <br />Courthouse on any business day between 8:30 o'clock A. M. <br />and 5:00 o'clock P. M. <br />
