® BOOK 7 PACE203 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, April 1st, 1968 <br />The regular meeting 'of the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br />County, North Carolina, convened at 10 o'clock a. m., on Monday, April 1st, <br />1968, in the Commissioners' Room of the Lee County Courthouse. Those present <br />were Chairman John E. Dotterer, Commissioners Max McLeod, A. E. White, <br />Franklin D. Wicker and Charles Robert Yow. None of the Commissioners were <br />absent. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of March 4, 1968, and the <br />minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on March 11, 1968, were approved <br />and ordered recorded. <br />Commissioner McLeod presented a petition requesting improve- <br />ment to the State Maintained Secondary Road No. 1179, from its intersection with <br />Secondary Road No. 1176 to U. S. Highway No. 1. After discussion, Commissioner <br />McLeod moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of Lee has investigated the condition of the above <br />described road which is now a part of the system of roads <br />maintained by the State Highway Commission, and which <br />is indicated in red on the attached map; and <br />WHEREAS, after careful considerationof the <br />services rendered by said road and the traffic demands <br />of said County, it is deemed necessary that said road <br />be improved in order to better serve the interests of the <br />people of this county. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and <br />the Board of County Commissioners, hereby approves <br />and requests that the State Highway Commission make <br />the following improvement in the above described road: <br />Blacktopped. <br />Commissioner Yow seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Chairman Dotterer presented the request of the Library Board <br />for improvement to the present Library building. <br />After discussion and review, upon motion of Commissioner <br />White, seconded by Commisdoner Wicker, and unanimously adopted, it was <br />RESOLVED to take lMatB for said work. <br />E3177.4fq TeS OF coST <br />l <br />
