BOOT( .7 PAE2.30 <br />departments for the fiscal year July 1, 1968, through <br />June 30, 1969, be and the same is hereby tentatively <br />adopted as the budget of Lee County for said fiscal year; <br />and the tax rate for said County of Lee be and the same <br />is ~uy ntatively fixed and established at $1.35 for <br />eac Qa~on of the taxable property for the fiscal year <br />1968-69; and the special tax rate for the Sanford School <br />Administrative Unit be and the same is hereby tentatively <br />fixed and established at 20¢ for each $100.00 valuation of <br />the taxable property in said districts for the fiscal year <br />1968-69. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said budget <br />be filed and lie on the table in the office of the Clerk of <br />the Board of Commissioners for Lee County for at least <br />twenty (20) days for public inspection, and that a summary <br />of said budget br notice of filing of said budget in the office <br />of the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners be published <br />in The Sanford Daily Herald at least twenty (20) days before it is <br />finally adopted as the budget for the fiscal year 1968-69. <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion and it was unanimously <br />adopted by a roll call vote as follows: <br />AYE: McLeod, White, Wicker, Yow, and Dotterer <br />NO: None <br />Commissioner White moved that the firm of Hayes, Howell, and <br />Associates be hired to examine the Courthouse to determine if an additional Courtroom <br />could be provided in the present structure. Commissioner Yow seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The Board requested the Architects to <br />notify them when they came to look at the building as they would like to discuss the <br />project with the Architects. <br />The Clerk was requested to obtain specifications on ambulances <br />for the Board's consideration. <br />The monthly bills as tablulated by the County Accountant were <br />presented to the Board. The bills were approved for payment upon motion of <br />Commissioner Wicker, seconded by Commissioner McLeod, and duly adopted by a <br />unanimous vote. <br />The meeting recessed for five minutes and reconvened in the Court- <br />room. <br />The Board held a public hearing on the use of Lee Elementary School <br />Building, asit had been requested to do. The Superintendents of both school adminis- <br />trative units were present and spoke. All interested parties were given an opportunity <br />to state their views and to ask questions.
