BOOK 7 pAcE 22 8 <br />Chairman Dotterer advised the Board the Mental Health Clinic <br />soil boring tests would cost $550.00. Commissioner Wicker moved the adoption <br />of the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, that the <br />sum of $550.00, be appropriated from the un- <br />appropriated surplus in the General Fund to the <br />Mental Health Fund for the purpose of having soil <br />borings at the Mental Health Clinic site. <br />Commissioner Yow seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, <br />it was adopted as follows: <br />AYE: McLeod, White, Wicker, Yow, and Dotterer <br />NO: None <br />Mr. W. B. Pittman appeared before the Board and presented a new <br />contract with Middleton, Wilkerson, McMillan, Architects, on the mental health clinic. <br />Mr. Pittman stated the contract had been redrawn in keeping with the requirements of the <br />Medical Care Commission and was in correct form now. Commissioner Yow moved <br />that the contract be approved and the Chairman be authorized to sign it for and on <br />behalf of the County.Commissioner White seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Chairman Dotterer advised the Board that it was advisable to pay <br />County employees at the end of the month to keep a more accurate budget. Auditor <br />E. M. Underwood, Jr. , appeared before the Board and recommended that an appropria- <br />tion be made to allow payment of salaries at the end of this month to keep future salary <br />payments within the fiscal year in which they were earned. Commissioner Yow moved <br />the adoption of the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, that the sum of $25,500.00, is hereby <br />appropriated out of the unappropriated surplus in the General <br />Fund to the following funds in the amounts indicated: Welfare <br />Fund - $7, 000.00.;) Mental Health Fund - $1,5500. 00; General <br />Fund - $17, 000.00; for the purpose of paying salaries and <br />related expenses and contributions.' <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted, as follows: <br />AYE: McLeod, White, . Wicker, Yow and Dotterer <br />NO: None <br />There was a discussion about utilizing a floor of the Wilrik Building <br />for school offices. <br />Commissioner McLeod moved the adoption of the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, that the Wilrik Committee be authorized to <br />proceed to devise methods for the use of the Wilrik Building with <br />particular reference to transferring the tenants in the Covington <br />Building to said building and to make plans to implement the <br />methods of use decided upon. <br />Commissioner Yow seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />adopted unanimously. <br />- 7 - <br />
