That the Lee County Board of Veterans Affairs <br />later in the year make a study and evaluate this new set up <br />and make such recommendations as this evaluation may <br />warrant. <br />4. That a copy of these recommendations be sent to <br />the North Carolina Board of Veterans Affairs. <br />Commissioner Yow seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Chairman Dotterer reported the County Planning Board had recommend- <br />ed the adoption of the residential building code. The matter was scheduled for a public <br />hearing on Monday, July 1st, 1968, and the Planning Board and the Board of Realtors were <br />invited to be present. <br />Commissioner Yow moved the adoption of the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY: <br />Section 1. The Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to <br />execute contracts or agreements with such other political sub- <br />divisions of the State of North Carolina as to him may seem ad- <br />visable, pursuant to Section 160-20.2 of the General Statutes of <br />North Carolina, whereby the parties agree to render mutual aid <br />and assistance by the loan of law enforcement officersand/or <br />equipment in time of emergency. <br />Section 2. Such contracts or agreements shall provide that they <br />shall take effect upon ratification by the governing bodies of each <br />party thereto and recordation in the minutes thereof. <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect upon its adoption. <br />Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />The Clerk presented and read a draft of an agreement with Cumberland <br />County to render mutual law enforcement assistance. Commissioner Yew moved the <br />adoption of the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br />for Lee County: <br />Section 1. The agreement between Lee County and Cumberland <br />County, dated June 3, 1968, providing for mutual law enforcement <br />assistance is approved and ratified. <br />Section 2. The Chairman and Clerk are authorized and directed <br />to execute said agreement on behalf of Lee County. <br />Section 3. Following its execution, the agreement is to be sub- <br />mitted to the Cumberland County authorities for their considera- <br />tion. <br />Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />- 6 - <br />
