BOOK 7 PACE 22 b <br />1. RESOLVED: that a project to provide a mental <br />health center at Sanford, North Carolina, comprised of a <br />building of approximately 9, 800 square feet for outpatient, <br />day care and related services in accordance with architectural <br />plans submitted as a component of a combined Lee-Harnett <br />Mental Health program be and the same is hereby approved; <br />participation in the project is authorized as follows: <br />Federal share $144, 460.00 (Mental Health Centers) <br />State share 53, 590.00 (Mental Health Centers) <br />Lee County share 34,950.00 <br />Total cost of participation $233,000.00 <br />2. RESOLVED: That the Lee County Commissioners <br />and the Lee-Harnett Mental Health Authority be and hereby <br />are responsible for the prosecution of the Lee County Community <br />Mental Health Center at Sanford, North Carolina. <br />3. RESOLVED: That W. B. Pittman, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, is hereby appointed official spokesman to represent <br />Lee County and the Lee-Harnett Mental Health Authority and <br />is authorized to sign all documents and correspondence required <br />in developing the Lee County Mental Health Center project. <br />4. RESOLVED: That Beatrice C. Fields, County Accoun- <br />tant, Sanford, North Carolina, is hereby appointed Treasurer to <br />handle all funds in connection with the Lee County Community <br />Mental Health Center project. <br />5. RESOLVED: That the Lee County Community Mental <br />Health Center site at Sanford, North Carolina, is hereby dedicated <br />for the exclusive use as a mental health center and other such directly <br />related medical programs that may be eligible for Federal and <br />State grants. <br />Commissioner White seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Gabe Holmes, Sr., and other members of the Board of <br />Veterans Affairs appeared before the Board andmade recommendations as to the <br />future operation of the office of the service officer. After discussion, Commissioner <br />White moved the adoption of the following resolution which embraced the recommen- <br />dations of the Board of Veterans Affairs: <br />BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />-1. That the Lee County Board of Veteran Affairs <br />employ a competent Veteran Service Office Clerk - Secretary. <br />That the immediate replacement of Mr. W. D. Gregson as <br />Service Officer be deferred. That the Lee County Board of <br />Veteran Affairs request the North Carolina Board of Veterans <br />Affairs to have a District Service Officer come to the Lee County <br />Service Office one or more days a week, with due regard to other <br />counties they serve, to service veterans. <br />2. That the Lee County Board of Veteran Affairs be permitted <br />to make such adjustments as may be necessary in the items of its <br />budget to meet this new situation. <br />- 5 - <br />
