6 <br />BOOK 7 FACE253 <br />Commissioner White seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Huitt Reep, Administrator of the Lee County Hospital, <br />appeared before the Board and requested that the Board of Commissioners purchase <br />for Hospital use the lot formerly owned by the Claude Rossers, which lot is 51.5 by <br />200 feet, at a total purchase price of $15, 850.00. <br />After discussion,upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, seconded <br />by Commissioner White, it was RESOLVED by a majority vote to advise the Hospital <br />authorities that the County would make available $7, 500.00 for application on the purchase <br />price if the hospital authorities would make available the balance of the purchase price. <br />The vote was as follows: <br />Aye: McLeod, White, Wicker, Dotterer <br />No : Yow <br />Mr. J. C. Pittman and Mr. J. Allen Harrington, Attorneys, <br />appeared before the Board relative to the location of an additional Courtroom. Both <br />of these gentlemen urged that any additional Courtroom provided be located in the present <br />Courthouse building. <br />Miss Mary Estelle Doyle, County Home Economist, appeared before <br />the Board and presented a report on the activities of the Agricultural Agencies. Miss <br />Doyle also gave a report on the new careers program in the Home Economist field. <br />The Board proceeded to hold a public hearing, as advertised, on con - <br />sideration of the North Carolina Uniform Residential Building Code. Mr. Mack Conder, <br />Chairman of the Planning Board, appeared and advised the Board that the Planning Board <br />had recommended the adoption of this code. Mr. John F. Wood, Building Inspector, <br />spoke and explained the operation of the code. All interestered parties, both those for and <br />those against the adoption>tof the building code were given an opportunity to be heard. The` <br />public hearing was then closed. Commissioner Yow moved that consideration of the <br />adoption of this code be postponed until the next Regular meeting of the Board. Commiss- <br />ioner White seconded the motion and upon a vote it was adopted. <br />The Board then considered the adoption of the Budget for the fiscal <br />year July 1, 1968 through 30 June 1969. <br />Page twenty-four <br />
