a 0 <br />BOOK 7 PACE 211 <br />-3g- <br />Section 11. Salary of Demoted Employee. The salary of an employee demoted <br />to a position in a class with a lower salary range shall be adjusted to the maxi- <br />mum of the new range or to one step below his former salary, whichever is lower. <br />Section 12, Salary of Part-time Employee. The pay plan established by this <br />resolution is for full-time service. An employee appointed for less than full- <br />time service shall be paid at a rate recommended by the department head and/or <br />approved by the Governing Board determined by converting the established monthly <br />salary of the position into an hourly rate. <br />Section 13. Pay Periods. All employees shall be paid on the 25th day of <br />each month for service rendered during that calendar month. If pay day falls on <br />Saturday, Sunday or holidays, employees shall be paid on the last working day <br />prior thereto. <br />Section 14. Effective Date of Salary Adjustments. Salary adjustments <br />approved by the Governing Board after the first working day of a pay period shall <br />become effective at the beginning of the next pay period or at such specific <br />date as may be provided. <br />Section 15. Accountant to Pay Employees. At least once each year the <br />Accountant shall personally hand each employee his prescribed salary check, for <br />that particular pay period. <br />Section 16. Travel Expenses. Department heads shall include in their <br />annual budget requests an estimate of travel expenses needed for the year as <br />well as an explanation to the Governing Board of the need for such expenses, <br />For approved travel of employees using private automobiles, the County will pay <br />$.10 per mile, Personnel attending authorized meetings will be reimbursed <br />actual itemized expenditures for lodging, meals and registration. Records of <br />all travel expenses will be submitted to the Governing Board before payment is <br />made. <br />Page eleven <br />
