BOOK 7 PACE 2118 <br />When no second was made to the motion, the Chair ruled that <br />the motion died for lack of a second. <br />Commissioner Yow moved the adoption of the following: <br />That the firm of Hayes, Howell & Associates, <br />Architects, be employed to prepare detailed plans and <br />specifications suitable for obtaining firm bids on the <br />construction of a Courtroom addition to the present <br />building at a cost not to exceed $60, 000.00. <br />There was no second and the chair ruled thatithe motion died for <br />lack of a second. <br />Commissioner White moved that the firm of Hayes, Howell & <br />Associates, be employed to prepare detailed plans and specifications for obtaining <br />firm bids on the following projects: <br />(1) A Courtroom in the wing to the south of the original <br />Courthouse building. <br />(2) Renovation of up to two floors of the Wilrik building. <br />(3) New construction at the present Courthousesite of sufficient <br />space to retain the tax collector and tax supervisor`s offices at that site as well as to <br />provide for a new Courtroom. <br />Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion. <br />Commissioner White requested that he be allowed to withdraw his <br />motion and Commissioner McLeod consented tos me and withdrew his second and the <br />Chair ruled that the motion had been withdrawn. <br />Commissioner McLeod moved the adoption of the following: <br />That the firm of Hayes, Howell and Associates, Architects, <br />be employed to prepare preliminary sketches and summary specifications and then to <br />obtain a Contractor's estimate of costs for the following projects: <br />(1) A Courtroom in the wing to the south of the original <br />Courthouse building. <br />(2) Renovation of up to two floors of the Wilrik building. <br />(3) New construction at the present Courthouse site of sufficient <br />space to retain the tax collector and tax supervisor's offices at that site as well as to <br />provide fo r a new Courtroom. <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion. <br />There was a voice vote with both affirmative and negative votes and <br />a roll call vote was called for. The vote was as follows: <br />Aye: McLeod, Wicker and Dotterer <br />No : White and Yow <br />The motion passed by a majority. <br />Page two <br />
