BOOK <br />7 PACE 299 <br />M <br />Upon motion of Commissioner McLeod, seconded by Commissioner <br />White, it was unanimously resolved to install gasoline storage tank on the <br />county's land adjoining the County Board of Education School Garage. The County <br />Superintent of Buildings was authorized to have the land cleared, sell the pulp <br />wood and to bury the tank. Commissioner Yow was requested to co-ordinate this <br />work with the Sanford City Board of Education, who desired to place a storage <br />building on the site also. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Yaw, seconded by Commissioner Wicker, <br />it was unanimously resolved to request the North Carolina Department of Conser- <br />vation and Development to release their easement on the land adjoining the Adult <br />Education Center. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Yow, seconded by Commissioner McLeod <br />it was unanimously resolved to pay all of the current bills as tabulated by the <br />County Accountant including the bill for paint used at the Armory. Commissioner <br />McLeod reported on his meeting with the representatives of the Board of Aldermen <br />of the City of Sanford concerning county-wide water system and advised the Board <br />that the City would sell water to the county at the rate of $35.00 per 1, 000 gallons <br />if the proposed bond issue carries. This is the same basis on which the City <br />sells water to the Northview Water Assodation. <br />Chairman Dotterer presented a letter from the First Citizens Bank & <br />Trust Company requesting approval as a county depositor. After discussion, it <br />was unanimously resolved upon motion of Commissioner McLeod and seconded <br />by Commissioner Yow to approve the First Citizens Bank &Trust Company as a <br />depositor for county funds and the County Accountant was instructed to equitably <br />apportion the county funds among the three approved banks in the county. <br />The written report of the jail inspector was presented to the Board. <br />Chairman Dotterer advised the Board that Sheriff Holder would see that the only <br />jailer who has not attended the jail school would attend the next session. The <br />written report of D. F. Holder, Sheriff of Lee County was presented to the <br />Board. The written report of Mr. John Wood, Building and Electrical Inspector <br />was presented to the Board. The written report of Mr. Natham Crissman, Tax <br />Collector, showing his collections for the preceding month was presented to the <br />Board. Upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, seconded by Commissioner White, <br />it was resolved to authorize the appraisal of the Willett property adjoining the <br />county jail and to appropriate the sum of $150.00 from the contLtngency and emer- <br />gency fund for said purpose. Messers. McLeod, White, Wicker, Yow and <br />Dotterer voted for the resolution and no one voted against it. <br />The recommendation of the Board of Trustees of Lee County Hospital, <br />Inc. for new Trustees was presented to the Board. Upon motion of Commissioner <br />Wicker, seconded by Commissioner White, it was resolved to appoint Mrs. <br />Margaret B. Ascough and Mr. Harry,S. Miller as Trustees to hold office for a <br />term of four years as provided in the Charter of Lee County Hospital, Inc. <br />Messers. McLeod, White, Wicker, Yaw and Dotterer voted for the resolution <br />and no one voted against it. <br />Chairman Dotterer, on behalf of the Board commended Commissioners <br />Max McLeod and Charles Robert Yow for their faithful and efficient services to <br />the people of Lee County in the discharge of their duties as County Commissioners.. <br />Thore being no further business to come before said session,, the <br />meeting adjourned, sine die.. ~p <br />John Dotterer, M.
