BOOK <br />PAGE296 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />i444404d4404404dQ444#404d44pdQ4004404p4i449040i904ii9 <br />Monday, November 4, 1968 <br />4Opd4449Q49444444p44444d9Q49404dQd4p#444dd44Od490409p <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee convened in the Commissioners' Room at the Lee County Courthouse in <br />Sanford at 10:00 o'clock A M. Those present were: Chairman John E. Dotterer, <br />Commissioners Max McLeod, A. E. White, Franklin D. Wicker, and Charles <br />Robert Yow. None of the Commissioners were absent. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on October 7, 1968 and of the <br />special meeting held on October 18, 1968 were approved and ordered recorded. <br />Commissioner McLeod reported on the work being done on the Lee's <br />Chapel Church Road. <br />Commissioner McLeod presented a petition for the addition of the <br />Underwood Road to the State maintained Secondary Road System. Commissioner <br />Yaw moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County <br />Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting that the above described <br />road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached <br />map, be added to the Secondary Road system; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that <br />the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, <br />if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the <br />State Highway Commission for the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners <br />of the County of Lee that the State Highway Commission is hereby <br />requested to review the above described road, and to take over the road <br />for maintenance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Commissioner McLeod presented a petition for the addition of the <br />Cheshire Mill Road to the State maintained Secondary Road System. Commissioner <br />Yow moved the adoption of the follwing resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County <br />Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting that the above described <br />road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, <br />be added to the Secondary Road system; and <br />
