BOOK 1 PACE 01 <br />0 <br />The Chairman asked the Board what their pleasure was with respect to the bids <br />for heating and air conditioning. Commissioner White stated that he thought all bids <br />should be rejected since two of the three bidders expressed doubts about the capability <br />of the system to maintain the requested temperatures. Commissioner White moved the <br />bids be rejected and new specifications prepared for a larger system with additional <br />specifications providing for the following: (a) preserving the windows above the units, <br />(b) limiting the projection of window units to 3 to 5 inches outside the building, (c) <br />providing for fresh air ducts into the first floor. Commissioner Wicker seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The Board suggested December <br />6, 1968 at 4:00 P. M. as the next day for taking bids. <br />Commissioner Wicker moved the sum of $450.00 be appropriated from the <br />Emergency and Contingency Fund to the Mental Health Fund for additional funds for <br />the salary of the director. Commissioner White seconded the motion and upon a roll <br />call vote it was unanimously adopted. Messrs. McLeod, White, Wicker, and Dotterer <br />voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />Commissioner White moved the Chairman be authorized to execute a contract <br />on behalf of the County, with Harnett County, setting the salary of the Director of the <br />Lee-Harnett Mental Health District at $9, 732.00 to be paid one-half by each County. <br />The Chairman announced a joint meeting with the Board of Commisioners for <br />Harnett County had been set tentatively for December 4, 1968 but notice would be <br />sent out when the date had been definitely set. <br />Commissioner Wicker moved the Recreation and Parks Commission be allowed <br />to occupy the rooms formerly occupied by the Soil and Water Conservation Service <br />in the Courthouse Annex Building. Commissioner White seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner McLeod moved that the leather bound records book marked <br />"Orders and Decrees" which is unused and no longer needed by the Clerk of Superior <br />Court be placed in the custody of Railroad House Association as a part of the County <br />historical collection and for use in recording documents pertaining to County's history. <br />Chairman Dotterer advised the Board the Health Department had requested <br />approval of its observing the same holidays for Christmas as the other State employees, <br />and that each employee vo uld take two days leave the same week. This was approved <br />and Commissioner White moved that the County offices be closed and the employees <br />granted holidays for December 24th, 25th and 26th. . Commissioner Wicker seconded <br />the motion and upon a- vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The written request of the Tax Supervisor to employ a concern to move the <br />ilg and counters in his office was referred to Mr. Hugh Brewer,. Superintendent of <br />/ ats f~WAh been delegated authority to supervise the moving of such equipment. <br />Commissioner White moved that the sum of $50.00 be appropriated from the <br />Emergency and Contingency Fund to the Hospital Fund for the purpose of paying for a <br />survey of the site to be exchanged with the Sanford Surgical Clinic. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of November 4, 1968, were corrected and <br />as corrected were ordered recorded. <br />Upon motion made, seconded, and duly adopted, it was resolved to authorize the <br />moving of the Veterans Service Officers office from the Courthouse to the office <br />formerly occupied by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conversation in the Courthouse <br />Annex Building. <br />
