BOOK 7 pu[3®6 <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon Wicker, seconded by Commissioner <br />Joyce and unanimously adopted,.:it was resolved to take bids for gasoline needs every <br />six months. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Joyce and <br />unanimously adopted, it was resolved to authorize Commissioner Frank Wicker to <br />arrange for fruit baskets for county employees working in the courthouse, courthouse <br />annex, health and wealfare departments. <br />The Clerk reported that the appraisal of the Willett property adjoining County <br />jail had not been received from Sanford Board of Realtors. The Clerk was requested <br />to notify the Board of Realtors to have the appraisal completed prior to January <br />meeting of the Board, if at all possible. <br />Chairman Dotterer advised the Board he had received a letter from Hayes, <br />Howell & Associates, stating that the plans and specifications for the new courtroom <br />had been completed. The Chairman was requested to secure copies of the plans and <br />specifications for examination of the members of the Board. <br />The Chairman announced that the Harnett County Board of Commissioners <br />desired to meet with the Lee County Board of. Commissioners on Wednesday, Decem- <br />ber 4, 1968 at 7:00 p. m. in the Lee County Hospital. There was an extended <br />discussion about the Mental Health Department but no formal action was taken. <br />Chairman Dotterer read to the Board a letter from Mr. Jeff Hockaday, <br />Superintendent of the Sanford City Board of Education which set out bids received for <br />a boiler at the McIver Elementary School. Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon <br />Wicker, seconded by Commissioner White,`'and:: unanimously adopted,=it was. <br />resolved to appropriate the sum of $10, 470. 00 from the unappropriated surplus in the <br />general fund to the school capital outlay fund for the purpose of purchasing a boiler <br />for the McIver Elementary School in the Sanford City Board of Education Administra- <br />tive Unit. Messrs. Joyce, White, F. Wicker, G. Wicker and Dotterer all voted for <br />the motion. No one voted against it. <br />The Chairman reported to the Board that a notice had been received to the <br />effect that the Pantry, Inc. was applying for a permit to sell beer in two locations <br />in the City of Sanford. <br />The list of monthly bills as tabulated by the County Accountant was presented <br />to the Board. The statement of Lee Hardware Company for a saw was added to the <br />list, and as amended, the list was approved for payment upon motion of Commissioner <br />Joyce, seconded by Commissioner Frank Wicker and unanimously adopted. <br />-4- <br />Upon motion made, seconded, and unanimously adopted, it was resolved to <br />adjourn the meeting until 7:00 P. M. on Wednesday, December 4, 1968 at the staff <br />room of the Lee County Hospital. The meeting was adjourned in accordance with <br />the resolution. <br />
