E01 OK 7 PAGE 333 <br />at $11, 808 retroactive to September 5, 1968 and that the county accountant be <br />authorized to pay Lee County's prorata share to the administrator. Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and Messrs. Joyce, Gordon A. Wicker and <br />Franklin D.. Wicker all voted for its adoption. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A.. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner <br />Joyce, and unanimously adopted, it was resolved to authorize the Mental Health <br />Department to use the office building of the Sanford Surgical Clinic-when vacated by <br />said Clinic. <br />Commissioner Joyce moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee recognized the value of planning for the <br />improvement of law enforcement and the criminal justice system in North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 provides <br />matching funds to permit planning for the future of law enforcement and the criminal <br />justice system; and <br />WHEREAS, these planning funds are available to local government planning <br />units through the Governor's Committee on Law and Order in North Carolina: <br />BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED THAT THE County of Lee does agree to <br />participate in joint law enforcement and criminal justice planning efforts in coopera- <br />tion with other units of local government in this area of North Carolina through the <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we hereby appoint Commissioner Franklin D. <br />Wicker and Sheriff D. F. Holder to serve on the law enforcement planning board of <br />lY I~i~~~I~6gX <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Vice Chairman Franklin D. Wicker reported that the Board had received a <br />letter from Hubert Garner,. President of the Lee County NCEA, thanking them for <br />providing supplements for the teachers in the Lee County Board of Education Adminis- <br />trative Unit. <br />A written report of Mr. John F. Wood, County Electrical Inspector was presented <br />to the Board. <br />A written report of D. F.
