VOK a PAGE 341 Mr. Fletcher Harris appeared before the Board and advised the Board of the increased premiums necessary to provide $250 deductible collision insurance on the County ambulances and the increased premium for raising liability coverage to 100-300-50. Upon motion of Commissioner William B. Joyce, seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, it was resolved to provide collision coverage with a $250 deductible clause and to increase the County's liability coverage to 100-300-50. Commissioner Wicker was instructed to ascertain from the Rural Fire Departments if they desired to be covered under the County's Workmen's Compensation Program. Mr. Bob Bowers and Mr. Angus Morrison appeared before the Board and presented Budget Request for the Soil and Water Conservation District. Commissioner Frank Wicker moved that the sum of $340.00 be appropriated from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund to the Soil and Water Conservation District Fund. Commissioner A. E. White seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, it was unanimously adopted. Messrs. Joyce, White, F. Wicker, G. Wicker and Dotterer voted for the motion and no one voted against it. A delegation from Lee County Rescue Squad appeared before the Board with Mr. W. T. Perkins serving as spokesman. They presented their request for the operation of the Rescue Squad and the budget request for the operation of the ambulance service. The Board opened bids for 7,000 gallons of high test gasoline and the bids were as follows: Sinclair Oil Corporation bid 12.88 cents per gallon, when delivered via full transport truck. They did not include a bid bond. Palmer-Reeves Oil Company bid 17.30 cents per gallon or 24.55 cents per gallon, tax included, and they did not include a bid bond. American Oil Company bid a total of $1,830.50, tax included, and did not include a bid bond. Cooper Oil Company, Inc. bid a total of $1,529.50, tax included, an i inc u e a i bona. Upon motion of Commissioner White, seconded by Comm- issioner Joyce, it was resolved to award the bid to Cooper Oil Company, Inc., the lowest bidder, which conformed to the speci- fications of the proposal at the price of $1,529.50. Mr. Jeff Hockaday, Superintendent, and Representatives of the Sanford City Board of Education, appeared and presented the budget request for the Sanford City Board of Education. Mr. W. C. Harward, Chairman, and Representatives ofthe Lee County School Board, appeared before the Board and presented the budget request on behalf of the Lee County School Board.
