VOK a PAGE 341 <br />Mr. Fletcher Harris appeared before the Board <br />and advised the Board of the increased premiums necessary to <br />provide $250 deductible collision insurance on the County <br />ambulances and the increased premium for raising liability <br />coverage to 100-300-50. Upon motion of Commissioner William <br />B. Joyce, seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, it was <br />resolved to provide collision coverage with a $250 deductible <br />clause and to increase the County's liability coverage to <br />100-300-50. <br />Commissioner Wicker was instructed to ascertain <br />from the Rural Fire Departments if they desired to be covered <br />under the County's Workmen's Compensation Program. <br />Mr. Bob Bowers and Mr. Angus Morrison appeared <br />before the Board and presented Budget Request for the Soil and <br />Water Conservation District. <br />Commissioner Frank Wicker moved that the sum of <br />$340.00 be appropriated from the unappropriated surplus in the <br />General Fund to the Soil and Water Conservation District Fund. <br />Commissioner A. E. White seconded the motion and upon a roll call <br />vote, it was unanimously adopted. Messrs. Joyce, White, F. <br />Wicker, G. Wicker and Dotterer voted for the motion and no one <br />voted against it. <br />A delegation from Lee County Rescue Squad appeared <br />before the Board with Mr. W. T. Perkins serving as spokesman. <br />They presented their request for the operation of the Rescue <br />Squad and the budget request for the operation of the ambulance <br />service. <br />The Board opened bids for 7,000 gallons of high test <br />gasoline and the bids were as follows: <br />Sinclair Oil Corporation bid 12.88 cents per gallon, <br />when delivered via full transport truck. They did not include a <br />bid bond. <br />Palmer-Reeves Oil Company bid 17.30 cents per gallon <br />or 24.55 cents per gallon, tax included, and they did not include <br />a bid bond. <br />American Oil Company bid a total of $1,830.50, tax <br />included, and did not include a bid bond. <br />Cooper Oil Company, Inc. bid a total of $1,529.50, tax <br />included, an i inc u e a i bona. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner White, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Joyce, it was resolved to award the bid to Cooper Oil <br />Company, Inc., the lowest bidder, which conformed to the speci- <br />fications of the proposal at the price of $1,529.50. <br />Mr. Jeff Hockaday, Superintendent, and Representatives <br />of the Sanford City Board of Education, appeared and presented the <br />budget request for the Sanford City Board of Education. <br />Mr. W. C. Harward, Chairman, and Representatives ofthe <br />Lee County School Board, appeared before the Board and presented <br />the budget request on behalf of the Lee County School Board. <br />The meeting recessed for lunch at 12:15 o'clock P.
