-A Bm, e wt 370 <br />Vice-Chairman Wicker stated that the next item of business was <br />filling the vacancy on the Board of Commissioners created by the resignation of <br />Commissioner Joyce. <br />Ballots weredistributed and an election conducted. Mr. Perry <br />White received a majority of the votes cast and was declared duly elected as a <br />Commissioner for Lee County. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner White, duly seconded by Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker, it was RESOLVED to instruct the Clerk to advise the Congress- <br />ional Representatives that this Board is opposed to any taxation of State and <br />Municipal Bond interest. <br />Vice-Chairman Franklin D. Wicker reported that the Electrical <br />Inspector had submitted his resignation to be effective July 31 st. Upon motion <br />of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Gordon Wicker, it was <br />RESOLVED to accept the resignation of the Electrical Inspector to be effective <br />July 31 st, 1969, and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker was appointed as the <br />Board's representative to secure and employ a new Electrical Inspector in co- <br />operation with the City of Sanford Authorities. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution with respect to Oakwood Street, Raleigh Avenue and Register <br />Street in the Johnny Goldston Subdivision, Map Book 3, page 34, Lee County <br />Registry: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed <br />with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of <br />Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location <br />of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be <br />added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissi oners <br />is of the opinion that the above described road should be <br />added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets <br />minimum standards and criteria established by the State <br />Highway Commission for the addition of roads to the <br />System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board <br />of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the <br />State Highway Commission is hereby requested to review <br />the above described road, and to take over the road for <br />main tenance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner White seconded the resolution and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution with respect to Cole Street, Pineland Avenue and Ridge <br />Street in Pine Ridge Development Subdivision, as shown on Map Book 3, page <br />56, Lee County Registry: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed <br />with the Board of County Commissioners of the County <br />of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the <br />location of which has been indicated in red on the attached <br />map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of <br />the opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br />Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and <br />
