Wicker, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner Perry White, it was unanimously RESOLVED to appoint Mr. <br />Jack O. Hall, of Route No. 8, Sanford, Carolina, and Mr. William Dewey Riddle, <br />of Route 3, Carbonton Heights, Sanford, North Carolina, to the Board of <br />Adjustment for the City of Sanford. Mr. Hall was appointed for a term expiring <br />on June 30, 1970, and Mr. Riddle was appointed for a term expiring on June 30, <br />1971. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner A. E. White, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, it was unanimously RESOLVED to appoint Mr. <br />Gilbert Lett to the=Planning-Board=of the Planning Board of the City of Sanford. <br />Mr. Lett was appointed for a three year term expiring on June 30, 1972. <br />Commissioner Perry White moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee recognizes the value <br />of planning for the improvement of Law Enforcement and <br />the Criminal Justice System in North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe <br />Streets Act of 1968 provides matching funds to permit <br />planning for the future of law enforcement and the criminal <br />justice system; and <br />WHEREAS, these planning funds are available to <br />local government planning units through the Governor's <br />Committee on Law and Order in North Carolina: <br />BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED THAT THE <br />County of Lee does agree to participate in joint law enforce- <br />ment and criminal justice planning efforts in cooperation <br />with other units of local government in this area of North <br />Carolina, through the Cumberland-Harnett-Hoke-Lee <br />Planning Agency. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we hereby appoint <br />D. F. Holder and Franklin D. Wicker to serve on the <br />law enforcement planning Board of Cumberland-Harnett- <br />Hoke-Lee Planning Agency. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it was <br />adjourned sine die.
