BOOK 7 Pnst 377 <br />Chairman Dotterer reported that the County Planning Board <br />will appear before the Board of Commissioners in regard to the residential <br />building code at 10:30 o'clock a, m., on October 6th, 1969. The Chairman <br />announced that at that time a public hearing will be held and all interested <br />parties would be heard with respect to the adoption or rejection of the residential <br />building Code. <br />The written annual report of the Lee County Soil and Water <br />Conservation District was presented to the Board. <br />The written report of D. F. Holder, Sheriff of Lee County, <br />was presented to the Board. <br />The monthly statements as tabulated by the County Accountant <br />were presented to the Board and reviewed. Upon motion of A. E. White, <br />seconded by Commissioner Perry White, the bills were approved for payment <br />upon a resolution which was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />Chairman reported thatthe Civil Defense Department was having <br />an exercise on Monday, September 8th, 1969, and the Commissioners were <br />invited to participate in the exercise. <br />Chairman Dotterer announced that Commissioner Perry White <br />was appointed to serve as the Commissioner in charge of the program <br />administered by the Youth Council of North Carolina, Inc. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker left the meeting and did not <br />participate in the further deliberations of the Board. <br />Dr. O. D. Garvin, District Health Officer, appeared before the <br />Board and requested additional funds for the operation of his Department. After <br />discussion, upon motion of Commissioner A. E. White, seconded by Commissioner <br />Perry White, it was RESOLVED to appropriate the sum of $2, 500. 00 from the <br />unappropriated surplus in the General Fund to the District Health Department <br />Fund. The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYE: A. E. White, Perry White, Franklin D. Wicker <br />and Gordon A. Wicker and Dr. John E.
