0 <br />BQOK 7 PACE 412 <br />WHEREAS, AUBREY E. WHITE married Miss Emma <br />Johnson and was the devoted father of four daughters, Mrs. <br />Frances W. Huffstetler, Miss Sophia White, Miss Eugenia <br />White and Mrs. Deborah W. Neal, and his widow and daughters <br />now survive him; and <br />WHEREAS, AUBREY E. WHITE, during a long and success- <br />ful career, set a high standard of personal conduct, evidencing <br />in both his public and private life, unquestioned integrity, loyalty, <br />selflessness, devotion to duty, and character of the highest <br />degree, and conducted himself as a good and gentle man with <br />kindness and courtesy to all; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Commissioners <br />for Lee County, to honor the memory of AUBREY E. WHITE, <br />and express its sympathy to his family in his death; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY: <br />Section 1. The Board of Commissioners recognizes <br />and expresses its appreciation for the public service rendered <br />by AUBREY E. WHITE with full knowledge that in his passing, <br />the County of Lee has lost an able Commissioner and a disting- <br />uished citizen: <br />Section Z. That this Resolution shall become a part of the <br />public records of this Board and that the Clerk shall cause a <br />certified copy of this Resolution to be transmitted to his widow. <br />Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective <br />upon its adoption. <br />Commission Gordon Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on February <br />16, 1970, were approved and ordered recorded. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved the adoption of the <br />following Resolution with respect to Secondary Road No. 1431, which is a dead <br />end road across from the Deep River School: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with <br />the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, <br />requesting that the above described road, the location of which <br />has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Second= <br />ary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the <br />opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br />Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for <br />the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State <br />J Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the <br />above described road, and to take over the road for mainte- <br />nance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br />r; <br />
