Holder appeared before the Board and presented <br />the Budget Request for his department. <br />Mr. Hugh Brewer, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, <br />appeared before the Board and discussed the condition of the mowing equipment <br />in his department. Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, duly <br />seconded and unanimously adopted, Mr. Brewer was authorized to secure bids <br />informally for the trade in and purchase of a riding type mower. <br />The Chairman presented a letter from the Lee County Sheltered <br />Workshop in which they presented a request for $1, 500. 00 to purchase a station <br />wagon. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Perry Whitey seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, it was unanimously RESOLVED to direct the <br />Lee-Harnett Mental Health Authority to include the programs of the Sheltered <br />Work Shop, the Childrens Center and the Happy Day Camp for mentally retarded <br />children, in their Budget Request for the coming fiscal year, and the Mental <br />Health Authority is granted permission and authority to contract for the rendering <br />of such services with the present operators. <br />The contract for the supply of electrical service to the County <br />Office Building with Carolina Power & Light Company was approved. The <br />Chairman and the Clerk was authorized to execute same on behalf of the Board. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting, <br />it was adjourned sine die. <br />John E.
