BOOK 7 PAGE 436 <br />H <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR <br />MEETING OF TI-IE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />8 JUNE 1970 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br />County, North Carolina, met in the Commissioners' Room of the County Office Building <br />at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford at 10:00 o'clock a. m. on <br />Monday, June 8, 1970, the same being the hour, date, and place specified in the motion <br />for adjournment. The Chairman called the meeting to order and on roll call the following <br />answered present: William H. Cooper, Perry White, Franklin D. Wicker, Gordon A. <br />Wicker, and John E. Dotterer. <br />The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The minutes of the meeting held in May, 1970, were approved and <br />ordered recorded. <br />Commissioner Perry White moved that the monthly bills as listed by the <br />County Accountant and supported by purchase orders be approved for payment. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and it was unanimously adopted <br />upon a vote. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper moved that the recommendations of <br />the County Board of Elections be adopted and the voter registration lists be sold on the <br />basis of two cents (26) per name. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker presented a petition requesting the <br />addition of Carr Creek Road, Dalrymple Street and Evers Avenue in Carr Creek Estates <br />Subdivision to the State maintained secondary road system. After review of the petition <br />and discussion, Commissioner Wicker moved the adoption of the following: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with <br />the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting <br />that the above described road, the location of which has been <br />indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary <br />Road system; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is <br />of the opinion that the above described road should be added to <br />the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the <br />d0 addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State Highway <br />Commission is hereby requested to review the above described <br />road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets <br />established standards and criteria. <br />
