Wicker, duly seconded <br />and adopted, it was resolved to delete $600.00 from the appropriation for the jail. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, duly seconded <br />and adopted, it was resolved to delete $18, 000.00 from the appropriation for the <br />Courthouse Annex. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, duly seconded <br />and adopted, it was resolved to raise the maintenance employees one step. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, duly seconded <br />and adopted, it was resolved to reduce the provisions for Foster Home Care by <br />$2,400.00 <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker presented a petition requesting <br />the improvement of Secondary Road No. 1216 (John Garner Road). After discussion <br />and review, Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the <br />County of Lee has investigated the condition of the above described <br />road which is now a part of the system of roads maintained by the <br />State Highway Commission, and which is indicated in red on the <br />attached map; and <br />WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services <br />rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said county, it is <br />deemed necessary that said road be improved in order to better <br />serve the interests of the people of this county. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, and the Board of <br />County Commissioners hereby approved and request that the State <br />Highway Commission make the following improvements in the above <br />described road: <br />Paved. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Upon motion made, duly seconded and adopted, the meeting was <br />adjourned until 10:00 o'clock a.m. on Monday, June 15, 1970, in the Commissioners' <br />Room of the County Office Building. <br />The meeting adjourned in accordance with the resolution. <br />John E.
