840i( ~ i'AfE <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker presented a petition requesting <br />the addition of Central Boulevard in Clearwater Forest Subdivision to the State- <br />maintained secondary road system. After consideration and discussion, <br />Commissioner Rranklin D. Wicker moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed <br />with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of <br />Lee requesting that the above described road, the location of which has <br />been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary <br />Road system; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is <br />of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br />Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the <br />addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State <br />Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the above <br />described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it <br />meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Perry White seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker reported on meeting of the <br />regional law and order committee and advised the Board it could anticipate the receipt <br />of $5, 015.00 from a grant through this committee. Commissioner Wicker moved <br />that the salaries for the personnel in the Sheriff's Department be raised in <br />accordance with the grant application. Commissioner White seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was duly adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker and the County Attorney reported on <br />the negotiations for the purchase of the Willett lot adjacent to the jail. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and duly adopted it was authorized to offer the sum of $10, 000.00 for <br />the purchase of said lot. <br />There being no further business to come before the session it was <br />adjourned sine die. <br />1. - ~ ; 0, Grl ~j~Cltairman <br />John E.
