BOOK PACE 441 <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the <br />Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting that <br />the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in <br />red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of <br />the opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br />Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the <br />addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State Highway <br />Commission is hereby requested to review the above described <br />road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets <br />established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Perry White moved that the sum of $9, 050.00 be appropriated <br />from the Emergency and Contingency Fund to the Wilrik Building Fund. Commissioner <br />Franklin D. Wicker seconded this motion and upon a roll call the vote was unanimous <br />in favor of the motion as follows: <br />AYE: Cooper, White, F. Wicker, G. Wicker & Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Board then resumed its consideration of the Budget for the fiscal year <br />beginning on July 1, 1970. <br />There were several motions to reduce tentative appropriations which died for <br />lack of a second. Then Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that $500.00 be <br />deleted from the Planning Department Fund. Commissioner William H. Cooper <br />seconded the motion and it was duly adopted. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved the sum of $5, 000.00 be deleted <br />from the ambulance appropriation. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the <br />motion and it was carried by a majority vote. <br />Commissioner Perry White moved that $3, 333.00 be deleted from the <br />appropriation for Comprehensive Health Planning. The motion was duly seconded and <br />upon a vote it was duly adopted. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has considered the <br />petitions of the Lee County Board of Education and the Sanford City <br />Board of Education for additional funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has heard the representatives <br />of both School Boards explain the nature of the program presented and <br />the financial needs of each of the administrative units; and <br />
