6DDK 7 P.'rE© <br />The Board next considered its proposal to the City of Sanford to <br />submit to the electorate a proposal for a recreation tax. The Board resolved <br />to have its proposal incorporated into an agreement and submitted to the City <br />for acceptance in order to resolve the problems attendant to the present oper- <br />ations of the recreation program. <br />D. F. Harris and Son, the County's insurance agent, recommended <br />the addition of medical payments coverage to the County's general public <br />liability policy. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that medical payments <br />coverage be added to the policy and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded <br />the motion. Upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. L. L. Beckham appeared before the Board and reported on the <br />meeting of the regional law and order committee. <br />Mr. Hugh Brewer, appeared before the Board and discussed the work <br />being done at the County office building to the water system and also discussed <br />the work on the visitors room at the jail. <br />The request of the Sheriff for an additional full time Clerk was discussed <br />and approved. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the sum of $ QQ.0 <br />be appropriated from the Emergency and Contingency Fund to the Sheriff's Depart- <br />ment Fund for salary for an additional Clerk. <br />Commissioner Perry White seconded the motion and upon a roll call <br />vote, it was unanimously adopted as follows: <br />AYE: White, F. Wicker, G. Wicker, Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />ABSENT: Cooper <br />The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare specification's for a new <br />vehicle for the Sheriff's Department. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it was <br />adjourned sine die. <br />JOHN E.
