M 900+, 7 'RASE 484 whereas it is necessary that the Board fix a time for the hearing in order that proper notice can be given; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that January 4, 1970, at 10:00 o'clock a. m. be and the same is hereby designated as the time and the regular meeting rrom of the Commissioners is designated as the place for the hearing on the petition required by G. S. 153-9 (17). FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of said hearing be published as required by G. S., 153-9 (17), said publication to be at the expense of petitioners. Commissioner Gordon Wicker seconded the motion and it was carried by a vote of five in favor and none against. The original petition was filed with the Board and is attached to the minutes. . The list of monthly bills supported by invoices and purchase orders were presented to the Board and considered. Upon motion of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Cooper, the payment of the bills as tabulated by the County Accountant were authorized and approved. The Clerk presented a letter from Mr. Raymond M. Taylor of the Department of Local Affairs, regarding law research facilities. The Board reviewed the questions presented and instructed the Clerk to-reply to the letter. The Tax Supervisor, James L. Clark, appeared before the Board and presented the resignation of Mrs. Christine Hearndon, as List Taker for Deep River Township. The Tax Supervisor recommended the appointment of Mrs. John L. Luck as a list taker in place of Mrs. Hearndon. Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, duly seconded by Commissioner William H. Cooper, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED to accept the resignation of Mrs. Christine Hearndon and in her place and stead to appoint Mrs. John L. Luck as a list taker for Deep River Township. Mr. James L. Clark, Tax Supervisor, stated to the Board that the Appraisal Company requested that the schedule of values for use in re-appraising the County be determined at the meeting on January 4, 1971. The written report of the Chairman of the Lee County Agricultural Extension Service was received and distributed to the members of the Board. The written report of the Tax Collector was received and distributed to the members of the Board. The written report of D. F. Holder, Sheriff of Lee County, was received and distributed to the members of the Board. Chairman Wicker requested the members of the Board to consider appointments to a Bicentennial Commission as was discussed at the last meeting . The Board discussed a letter received concerning the Zoological Park and referred it to Mr. Bob Brickhouse, the Chairman of the Lee County Zoological Park Committee. Mr. L. L. Beckham,. Civil Defense Director, appeared before the Board and discussed storing of his hospital supplies. The Chairman reminded the members there would be a meeting in
