�a 0 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />CONFIRMING APPOINTMENT OF BILL STONE <br />AS LEE COUNTY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION DIRECTOR <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners and North Carolina Cooperative Extension <br />Service (NCCES) operate under a Memorandum of Understanding with respect to providing <br />agricultural, family and consumer science, youth development and community development education <br />and services to the citizens of Lee County; and, <br />WHEREAS, under Part III of the Memorandum of Understanding both parties agree that the <br />appointment of the Lee County Cooperative Extension Director will be a mutual decision with a decision <br />made jointly by NCCES and Lee County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service conducted a comprehensive recruitment <br />process to select the next Director for Lee County after Susan Condlin retired as Extension Director on <br />November 30, 2015, and the Lee County Manager was an active participant in the recruitment of the <br />next director; and, <br />WHEREAS, after careful evaluation of the applicants, Clinton McRae, District Extension Director for the <br />South Central District of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, recommended Bill Stone as the <br />next Lee County Cooperative Extension Director to North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service; and, <br />WHEREAS, at their April 2016 meeting, the University of North Carolina Board of Governors approved <br />the appointment of Bill Stone as the Lee County Cooperative Extension Director; and <br />WHEREAS, under North Carolina General Statutes the Lee County Board of Commissioners has <br />retained the right to confirm the appointment made by the Director of North Carolina Cooperative <br />Extension Service at North Carolina State University. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners of Lee County, <br />that Mr. Bill Stone is hereby confirmed as the new Lee County Cooperative Extension Director. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, said appointment is to be effective as of May 2, 2016. <br />Adopted this 2nd day of May 2016. <br />ATTESTED: Amy M.
