CA 9
• Recommendation from the Joint Planning Commission: The JPC met in late January to
review this issue. After a presentation from representatives from CCCC and brief discussion,
the JPC did unanimously recommend that an amendment be considered to waive the
performance bond for all forms of government-owned wireless towers. Below is draft
language for the proposed amendment:
5.33.5.7 Government-owned wireless communication facilities shall be exempt from
Sections 5.33.5.3 through 5.33.5. of this Ordinance. Such government-owned wireless towers
shall not be required to submit a performance bond as specified in the aforementioned
subsections.
Amendment 2 - The Public Works Department approached the Planning staff and expressed
a concern about the current language as written for Public Works' certificate on final plats for
Lee County. Appendix B, subsection c.2 currently reads,
(c.2) CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL OF DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF
WATER AND SEWER UTILITIES. (Use for Lee County only, if applicable)
I hereby certify that all water and/or sewer utilities have been installed in an acceptable
manner and according to the City of Sanford specifications and standards in the
Subdivision or that a guarantee of the installation of the required
improvements in an amount or manner satisfactory to the City of Sanford has been
received.
• Director of Public Works
Date
The Public Works Department indicates that the current certificate is too open-ended in
regards to their responsibility in regards to public sewer versus private sewer. More
specifically, the majority of Lee County subdivisions use private septic systems and in those
situations the City's Public Works is solely responsible for acceptance of the water system.
Therefore, the Public Works Department is requesting the following changes be made to
certificate c.2:
(c.2) CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL OF DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF
WATER AND SEWER UTILITIES. (Use for Lee County only, if applicable)
I hereby certify that all (water) (water and sewer) (apply whichever is appropriate)
utilities have been installed in an acceptable manner and according to the City of Sanford
specifications and standards in the Subdivision or that a
guarantee of the installation of the required improvements in an amount or manner
satisfactory to the City of Sanford has been received.
Director of Public Works Date
Recommendation from the Joint Planning Commission: The JPC also discussed this proposed
o change at their January meeting and again recommended unanimously that the amendment be
considered.
